This week's edition of ON PIT ROW will include our views on the following:
The Buzz ON PIT ROW is...
Was Jeff Gordon's flag waving a tribute to, or a slap in the face to Senior's memory?
The four corners of The Fast Lap ask...
1. All 3 CoT races have been good, entertaining races. Should they go full time in 2008?
2. Should NASCAR look at changing the length of Cup races?
3. Should the France family be forced to sell either NASCAR or International Speedway Corp. because of a conflict of interest?
4. Talledega or Daytona--which do YOU like better?
Let us know how you feel about these questions or anything else that happened at Phoenix last weekend. If we like your comments we could use them on the air during Tuesday's show. Leave us a comment on the blog or call the show--toll free at 1-877-502-8255 between 5-7pm edt on Tuesdays.
If your radio market does not air any or all of ON PIT ROW-- tell them they should and listen to our show on www.racetalkradio.com Thursdays from 7-9pm et.

1. Unquestionably yes. The original phase in plan is what the owners wanted, but at this point with no glaring problems (and barring a Talladega fiasco) with the CORN it makes zero sense to prolong the extra cost associated with running to very different cars.
2. I've toyed with this idea as a way to add events to the schedule. Take a string of 2-3 current, or new events, at one or two points in the season run at shorter lengths of say 250 miles.
In addition venues could be located in close proximity and run on Sat and mid-week on Wed. Setup this way 2-4 events could be added to the schedule.
Of course it's all a pipe dream. Current tracks wouldn't agree to any shortening of races because they would lose revenue.
3. No way, no how. Not in anyone's current lifetime, if ever!
Kentucky Speedway and their shysters have already been proven to be shams after pulling their anti-trust suit that was destined to fail from the get-go. Without that going forward they haven't a leg to stand on in their sorry attempt to force a privately held company to do anything.
4. One and the same to me. The only thing that separates them is the pomp and circumstance surrounding Daytona.

1] It makes perfect sense and I really am liking the CORN
2] Maybe it's just me, but I have no problem sitting through 4 hours of racing except for some of the boring road races. As Marc said, integrating a couple of new 250 milers would be cool.
3]Too funny!!!
4]I have been to Dega...last year in fact and it was absolutely incredible...and I used to live in Daytona Beach and never once attended a race there... I was too busy babe watching and bar hopping as this was in 1976!!!
The #3 flag waving...I have mixed feelings. On one hand it seems like a true gesture on Dale's behalf, but on the other, Gordon has had this flag stored in his trailer waiting for this opportunity and I'm sure Jeffy has all good intentions but something tells me he had ulterior motives buried somewhere in that dirty little dark corner of his mind.
