Dale Earnhardt Junior didn't announce his new team today. DEI did capitulate on the NASCAR penalties and withdrew their appeal of the Darlington - innovations infractions.
Jeff and Ingrid are still waiting for the littlest Gordon, though the surrogate pilot of the #24 was disclosed. Won't Mark Martin look strange in that Dupont Chevy?
And NASCAR kissed the frog.
The Car of Tomorrow, aka, car of right now, C.O.R.N., car of eventually, the winged abortion, car of whenever, car of who cares or my personal favorite, the ugly little freakin' toad, has been christened the Car of 2008.
My buddy Steve thinks it's great. Apparently the NASCAR technical people are convinced that it is ready. I am sure that most teams are relieved to know that they have only six or seven different chassis configurations to build next year as opposed to fourteen or more. The blogosphere seems generally, and to me surprisingly, positive about the move. Check out Full Throttle.
The announcement timing is puzzling to me. I thought they would wait until after Talladega.
What a handsome frog Charlie!! I concur with Steve but on the basis that if they are going to run the darn thing then run it full time

If you go back in the early nineties, the cars really resemble each other. Besides the actual spoiler, even the splitter looks like the aero front of the Grand Prix. I kinda like em. For the fact that the drivers really have to "drive" the cars. real test will be at Tally and Daytona. I wonder how they will handle the "big one".

The old or current car is beautiful?
Who knew?
They're stock cars! I don't think pretty is an option.

First of thanks for the compliments.
Second, my feelings are if they are going to run the C.O.R.N. then go ahaed and just do it - and they are.
I might (MIGHT) even go as far as to agree with Kyle Petty about just running it the rest of the year.
Oh well, what is....is.
