NASCAR sure does mess with things just to have a couple road course races on the Nextel Cup Schedule. I am as big a fan of road racing as anyone and thoroughly enjoy watching Tony Stewart, Jeff and Robby Gordon and others, show their twisty car chops. Add more road races? Sure, that would be great.
It would actually make all the stuff that NASCAR and it's teams go through for what is now two races in 36 make more sense.
These two events are really false NASCAR. The rules are different. Officials seem to be less competent than they are on ovals. The teams scramble to fill driver seats with anyone who can turn right with skill.
This Sunday NASCAR returns to a two mile, high banked super speedway. The forty three best stock car drivers in the world will roll across the start line - two abreast - for 200 laps of sometimes 200 mile per hour, door to door racing.
No Patrick this week. Probably no Said Heads either. Reuteman and Raines return. Juan Pablo will not be favored. It's the return of the 43. The 43 best left hand turning, gas pedal stomping, bump drafting SOB's in the business. Can't wait.
me either I just wish they were in COT cars
